Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson has confirmed that his Star Wars movie trilogy is still happening, despite reports that it’s been put on the backburner.
He told Empire that he has remains close with Lucasfilm boss Kathleen Kennedy and that they “get together often and talk about it.”
“It’s just at this point a matter of schedule and when it can happen. It would break my heart if I were finished, if I couldn’t get back in that sandbox at some point,” he said.
Johnson’s The Last Jedi was among the more controversial and divisive Star Wars films, but it was undoubtedly a box office juggernaut, bringing in $1.3 billion in 2017.Venir de Tragamonedas Gratis Online
Kennedy herself discussed Johnson’s Star Wars trilogy earlier this year, telling Empire that Johnson’s Knives Out series is taking priority at the moment. The next movie, Glass Onion, debuts this year, and another one will follow. As such, Kennedy remarked that “it’ll be a while” before Johnson’s Star Wars series comes to fruition.
